An Alumnus of the National Defence Academy, served over forty years in the Corps of Engineers. Headed the prestigious College of Military Engineering, Pune. Handled the assignments of Director General Financial Planning at the IHQ of MoD (Army) and Director General Border Roads Organisation. As Head of Personal Services, was responsible for the Army’s Human Resource Policy Matters.
Has been Governing Body Member of the Indian Academy of Highway Engineering, Council member of the Indian Road Congress and Central Road Research Institute.
Actively involved in Disaster Management such as Kashmir floods-2014, Uttarakhand- 2013 and Pari Chhu incident flooding of Satluj River- 2005. As Senior Military Observer at UN Peace-keeping Mission in Congo (DRC), was responsible for the Operational Readiness of Combat Troops of world armies and deployment of over 500 multinational Military Observers. Served as member of a UNDP Advisory Committee for Formulation of Government in Congo (DRC). On return worked as Faculty at the Centre for UN Peacekeeping.
Selected by the Defence Institute for Psychological Research, served as an assessor at the Services Selection Board selecting officers for the Indian Army.
A keen sportsman. Member of the Indian Rowing team in the IX th Asian Games, 1982. Member of the Third Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica in 1983-84 which constructed DAKSHIN GANGOTRI, India’s first scientific base on the icy continent. Member of a Mountaineering Expedition in 2004 to Leo Pargyal on the Indo -Tibet border. Undertook the Chadar Trek in 2014 and the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 2015.
Fond of outdoors, reading and travel and believes that we are students till the end.
