Mr Vinod Sawhney

With an aspiration and willingness to make a company which has the capability of
deliverance with quality products backed by excellent services, Mr. V K Sawhney – Founder
and Managing Director of Accent Overseas Pvt. Ltd. perceived the concept of forming his own
company in 1998.
A Mechanical Engineer by Profession from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh in 1973,
Mr. Sawhney started Accent with an experience of approx. 25 years serving some of the elite
organizations of India such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Cimmco Birla, Shaw Wallace, Apollo
International etc. enjoying top management positions.
He started his career as a young engineer with Apollo International in the Marketing Division
and with his hard work, dedication and experience climbed ladder of success by getting
senior most posts of Vice President and General Manager with the biggest organizations of
India with foreign postings at Havana and New York for 8 years as Resident Director.
He became an entrepreneur at a young age of 48 years to form Accent Overseas when India
had opened up and IT Business had started to boom. Accent started their software division
which developed in-house software Accent-HRP to provide HR & Payroll Solutions to large
Indian Companies.
Having experience in Textile Industry and international marketing, it was an added
advantage to enter to the great Indian Tyre Industry which has some of the biggest tyre
manufacturers such as MRF, Apollo, JK, Ceat, Birla, BKT, TVS etc.
Mr. Sawhney has travelled extensively to the entire world for various business projects and
assignments and attended/participated in lot of exhibitions and events. He has visited
various countries like USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Australia, France,
Russia, Poland, Hungary, Nicaragua, Cuba, Jamaica, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia,
Singapore, Hongkong, China, Taiwan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt,
Lebanon, Iraq, South Africa, Sudan, Mauritius, Bangladesh etc.
He joined Rotary Club South-West in 2013 and later became member of heritage club RCD in
2017 and now presently serving as Assistant Governor of District 3011 with an objective to
serve the unfortunate and needy people in the society.
Mr. Sawhney has three children – Elder daughter staying in Melbourne, one son in London and
the youngest studying BTech (CS) at BITS Pilani, Dubai.
